Science & Philosophy
I have always been curious about things such as the ultimate structure of world and what makes us who we are. What in childhood took the form of an encyclopedic interest in facts later evolved into an interest in the fundamental aspects of reality which underlie everyday existence. This has led to my current fascination with homeopathy and other subjects often considered at the fringe of the scientifically acceptable.
My general approach to knowledge is scientific, yet I am acutely aware of the limitations of science as currently practiced. I believe that our conception of science ought to evolve along with scientific knowledge, rather than be cast in stone so as to structure all subsequent acquisition of knowledge. I therefore strive toward freedom from dogma and superstition while maintaining an active interest in those aspects of reality that do not fit into orthodox scientific moulds. In fact, I believe that the greatest gains in our knowledge of the world are to be had at the threshold of the scientific and the mystical.
I hold an Honours B.A. degree in Philosophy and Chemistry from the University of Toronto.
